PROOF OF AUTHENTICITY
Crops grown in Suffolk are sampled and distilled by the Scottish Agricultural College, and a profile of the oil is determined by Gas Chromatography. Our essential oil is compared with this profile and a certificate is issued by the Scottish Agricultural College assuring the buyer of 100% pure and genuine essential oil. An assurance that we the distillers endorse and unconditionally guarantee.

Our distillation process is the same as in Roman times - very natural. A bioassay has also been commissioned from the
Scottish Agricultural College

COMMERCIAL SECURITY, PRICE & SUPPLY STABILITY ASSURANCE.
We are aware that our existing and new customers who are potentially considering inclusion of our English Camomile Oil perhaps in new fragrance compounds need assurance as to reliability of supply and price, R.W.B.Starke & Son answer these concerns as follows:-
| (a) | Our stock levels never fall below a full year's sales - in hand.
Pre-contracted production is held in reserve for those contracted customers' call off orders.

(b) | Prices can be forward booked for up to three years and our long term historic price performance has kept price increases below UK inflation.

R.W.B.Starke & Son have never in the last 25 years failed to fulfill either a supply contract or a spot order.
PURITY, QUALITY ASSURANCE.
We have installed a new annual procedure for this as follows: Each year just before the harvest of Camomile the
Scottish Agricultural College (SAC)
visit our Camomile fields and take random samples of the flowering crop and return with this to SAC where laboratory distillation of these samples takes place to isolate the essential oil of Camomile, this very oil is then determined by GC to produce a 'profile trace'. Subsequently the industrial stills on the farm complete the full scale harvest of the plantation and samples of all the lots are tested by GC and traces determined for these samples. These are compared to the 'profile trace' and this enables SAC to issue a "certificate of conformance and authenticity". This backs up R.W.B. Starke & Son's time honoured unconditional guarantee of 100% Pure & Genuine English Camomile Oil, all customers will receive these certificates and still have the existing assurance. GC traces also available on request.
REGULAR QUALITY - YEAR ON YEAR.
Our growing and harvesting methods have been unchanged for the last 24 years (since 1974). Crop distillation and storage techniques established in 1928 are strictly followed to this day. R.W.B.Starke & Son as grower-producers recognise that our customers need as little fluctuation or change in quality as possible to ensure the same performance in their final products.
OTHER QUALITY ASSURANCE INFORMATION.
Since 1998 our farming of Camomile and other herb crops has been carried out under the I.C.M. Craver/Retailer protocol as added assurance of safe practices regarding Pesticides and environmental issues. R.W.B.Starke & Son and associates are founder members of the British Herb Trade Association (and culinary group) and members of the British Essential Oils Association. R.W.B.Starke & Son Camomile oil is Kosher certified annually.
ABOUT SCOTTISH AGRICULTURAL COLLEGE.
Dr. Katerina Svoboda of S.A.C. has taken a very active role in furthering work on essential oil in the U.K. and is one of the leading experts in this subject here under the S.A.C.
She is well acquainted with R.W.B.Starke & Son's crops and distillation processing.
S.A.C. provides research, development, advisory and consultancy work for over 14000 clients worldwide in agriculture, horticulture, food production and biotechnology. The Department of Plant Biology is responsible for research on aromatic and medicinal plants. Quality and quantity of secondary metabolites, namely volatile oils, are assured by GC and GCMS. A large collection of GC traces has been built up during the last 10 years and advice is given to interested growers, producers and industry.
